celeste-mah.jpgAs Pâtissier Extraordinaire for Lumière, Celeste presides over an ever-changing menu of sublime confections.  Celeste's trademark intensity uniquely suits the Lumière kitchen, and her vibrant style, skilled artistry, and impeccable timing afford truly spectacular results.  Elegant presentation and pure, balanced flavours highlight seasonal ingredients prepared using classic French techniques.

 

Celeste graduated Pastry School in Vancouver in 2001, then from 2002 through 2006, perfected her craft in the Kettle of Fish kitchens.  From there she moved to Vancouver’s renowned West restaurant and quickly ascended to the Pasty Sous position, working alongside the acclaimed Chef Rhonda Vianni.  In 2008, after two years perfecting her classical French techniques, Celeste accepted the Executive Pastry Chef position in the kitchen of Gastropod where she cultivated a sophisticated menu of desserts showcasing methods from contemporary west coast to classic European.

 

Celeste joined Lumière in 2009, and works side-by-side with Chefs Dale MacKay and Daniel Boulud to continue our award-winning tradition of truly exquisite desserts and confections.  Celeste looks to Daniel Boulud's celebrated Pastry Chef Eric Bertoia in New York City, for sweet inspiration.  She loves chocolate.
