Ambiance

Elegant & Approachable

Lumière's beautiful new dining room with its intimate scale and plush and voluptuous residential proportions, re-introduces Vancouver to one of its best-loved culinary destinations.

Lumiere Feature Room.jpgHere, the world stands still as extraordinary service and sublime cuisine promise guests the culinary trip of a lifetime, each and every time. Today's Lumière is exquisite, though undeniably approachable.

Lumière enters its second decade in Vancouver with an exciting new partnership with the esteemed Michelin three starred Chef Daniel Boulud.

Based in New York City, where he oversees DANIEL, Bar Boulud, Café Boulud, db Bistro Moderne and the new DBGB, Daniel is committed to a continued presence in the Lumière kitchen, both in person and in daily consultation with Grand Chef Dale MacKay.

Lumiere Corner Table Vert.jpgChef MacKay is one of Canada's best new Chefs, coming to Lumière from the kitchens of the famed Gordon Ramsay Restaurants in London, Tokyo, and New York.

Both chefs describe Lumière as "a dream come true for every chef - a 45-seat, Grand Chef Relais & Chateau, Les Grande Tables du Monde 'jewelbox' of a dining room", whose intimate scale and gorgeous interiors lend themselves to consecutive, once-in-a-lifetime dining experiences.

The dining room, though small in stature, is grand in presentation and affords a private entrance, cocktail bar, banquettes and table seating, and the most exquisite, indulgent appointments in the city.

Dining room music, artfully arranged by Daniel Boulud's Dinex Group in New York City, is exactly what you would expect from Lumière - French classic-contemporary, romantic, exotic tracks, imbued but subtle, and perfectly tempered to allow both conversation and privacy.

Lumiere Room Wide.jpgThe legendary Lumière kitchen invites special requests and special occasions, and will stop at nothing to make every visit a truly extraordinary one. Lumière General Manager Chris González or Maitre d' Drew Walker invite your call or email in advance of your visit, so that they may confer with Executive Chef MacKay and Pastry Chef Mah to ensure that expectations are exceeded.

And finally, though Lumière thrives in the time-honoured traditions of Relais & Chateaux and Les Grande Tables du Monde, we embrace the more relaxed restaurant culture of Vancouver. As such, jackets and ties are not required at Lumière. Our dress code is Business Casual.

Long considered one of Vancouver’s finest dining destinations, Lumière is an eclectic blend of European sophistication and modern French cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Dale MacKay under the guidance of Chef Daniel Boulud. Since the new partnership with the owners of Lumière, already a dining destination for over 10 years, the restaurant underwent a complete redesign. Lumière's décor concept brings this beloved Vancouver destination into its second decade with a fresh, modern appeal. The new look is in keeping with the emphasis on local seasonal cuisine presented in sophisticated, contemporary style. The 45-seat jewel box of a space, which serves dinner only, offers the comfort of a private residence with an intimacy of scale and attention to surface details. The bar area is intimate, backed in Zebrawood and lit by individual crystal pendants. Lumière is honoured to be recognized by both Relais & Châteaux and Traditions & Qualité. Lumière ... an unparalleled Canadian dining experience.
